The Director General of Yazd Railway stated: In line with the development of rail transportation and utilization of the capacities of the Pishgaman Dry Port, loading operations of light hydrocarbon cargo to international destinations Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have begun for the first time in Yazd Province.
Seyyed Reza Sadat Hosseini added: In the first phase of this project, 10 Russian tank wagons have been planned on a trial basis for shipment to Uzbekistan. Of these, 5 wagons have been delivered to the Pishgaman Dry Port site, and their loading operations have started.
He noted: According to the planning carried out, and if the trial phase is successful, it will be possible to load up to 50 wagons per month to Uzbekistan and 40 wagons per month to Afghanistan.
The Director General of Yazd Railway also announced the arrival of 5 domestic tank wagons in the near future to commence loading operations to Afghanistan from the loading site at Pishgaman Dry Port.
